What is the best way to learn at home?
Learning Self defense from a book or a movie doesn’t show you the exact techniques you’ll need to be effective. Learning self defense the right way requires a teacher of some sort. I know DVD’s might help a little but they are mainly used as reference more than anything else. If you truly want to learn something you need someone there to show you wrong doings and answer questions.
What is a good martial art for keeping in shape?
As stated above, there are several martial arts that can be used to learn self defense. Some of those include Hapkido, Karate, Teakwondo, and many many more. In regards to keeping in shape trust me, if you study a martial art and stay diligent to it’s training, you will get in shape. Remember that eating the right foods and regular exercise play a huge part.
After the martial arts I studied, I became ripped. With all of the running, sparring and exercising you do while studying, your body has to adapt and it usually adapts for the better.
What is the Best martial art for teenage girls?
Martial arts training can help with self-defense, but it’s just one *very limited* layer of personal protection. The best method of self-defense is prevention… namely, not getting into a situation in which you have to defend yourself, in the first place.
