OK my friends here we are again with another part to this amazing series. This has to be my favorite post so far and I love talking about these kinds of things. If you have not done so yet, make sure you read “Defending Yourself: Mental Defense!” That was the first part of that series and leads into this one so don’t cheat.
Now what I was talking about in part one was three key techniques you needed in order to succeed at defending yourself from well…yourself. You can be your own worst enemy and you can be your own savior. You pick what you want to think and how you act. If you follow the words I just said then you probably don’t have to read the rest of this post because you already know what it is you have to do.
OK now with the next three parts. Please if you have any questions always feel free to e-mail me at info@peopleprotection.com,
1.) Study: Every day even if it’s one page, read something that will help you grow. Read something that is informational and or inspiring. Experts say you should do this within the first half hour of getting up in the morning. They call this the power hour and your mind is more suceptable to taking valuable information in than any other time of day. I have tried it and it works great.
2.) Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Now I don’t mean you should watch and see what types of buildings you have around you or the license plate numbers of certain cars, although these things would not be a bad idea for self defense purposes. What I mean is watch who you surround yourself with. If you ever feel that someone is too negative or pessimistic, keep away. If this is a family member do your best not to listen to all of their negative thoughts. Keep yourself surrounded by positive, uplifting people that will bring you up and not down. I have a couple family members that just thrive on being negative. I love them with all my heart but I just cant stand their views on life. I just keep myself focused on the good and everything works out fine.
3.) Start a Positive People’s Group: Believe it or not we have a positive people’s group here where I live. Every week or so people get together, eat, and fellowship with each other in a postitive way. If you already have something like this in your area then I encourage you to join and attend the meetings. It is an awesome time and you get to network with tons of people that you otherwise wouldn’t have known.
So now we have a total of 6 tips I recommend for keeping you out of “mental” harms way. Please just practice one at a time and test it out. What works for some doesn’t work for others. Keep your mental self defense up and everything in your life will come out on top…I guarantee it.
