Police Pepper Spray Training

Posted by On January - 27 - 2010

Above, you get a little taste of what it’s like for our local law enforcement, to get sprayed with pepper spray.

These are the things that they have to go through while going through the police academy.

The reason I posted this was so people could see what local officers have to endure. If you watch closely, you will see that they have to perform certain tasks AFTER they have been sprayed. This training is there to help them deal with the possibility of getting sprayed by an assailant or arrestee.

The pepper spray that is being used here is Sabre Red. This spray is pretty good but has a lower active ingredient than some of the others.

If you have forgotten, the active ingredient is the HOTNESS in pepper spray, so the higher active ingredient, the better.

Well I hope this helps you out and shows you a little bit of what its like getting sprayed with pepper spray.

Disarming A Knife

Posted by On January - 26 - 2010

This is a video of Steve Tarani’s knife disarming techniques.

I have posted things on the blog before in regards to disarming a gun and such, but these techniques are awesome.

If you watch closely, he shows you about 20 different ways you can disarm a knife and in return, use it on your assailant. He is very fast and accurate so please pay attention.

The reason I posted this is so you have a general idea of what you can do to protect yourself from someone that is using a knife on you.

REMEMBER: If you are ever going to practice this with anyone, use a fake knife. I know that might be common sense, but common sense is just not that common now a days.

Good luck with this and if you have any questions about it, please leave a comment in the comment section below. Be safe and take care.

Can You Carry Pepper Spray On Planes?

Posted by On January - 21 - 2010

Well, let me make this a fairly quick answer by saying, NO!

Not to be mean here, people but you have to know that it is illegal to carry pepper spray on an aircraft.

Here is what the Federal Aviation Administration has to say about it. These are the things you cannot carry on a plane with you.

  • knives of any length or description
  • all cutting and puncturing instruments
  • athletic equipment that could be used as a weapon, such as baseball bats, golf clubs, ski poles, and hockey sticks
  • fireworks, including signal flares
  • flammable liquids or solids
  • dangerous household items such as drain cleaners and solvent
  • pressure containers
  • weapons, including firearms, gunpowder, mace or pepper spray, or
  • any item that may present a potential threat.
That is straight from the horses mouth.
If you are traveling within the continental United States, there are certain states you can send pepper spray to so that you have it when you arrive, but that’s about your only option.
If you travel out of the states, then you are SOL. You cannot send pepper spray through any type of air travel.
So if you are traveling by air and looking for protection you have to be creative. The best thing to do is find a local weapons shoppe where you are going and just buy something for the duration of the trip.
I hope this helps everyone out. If you have any questions about this please leave them in the comment section below.

Top Five Reasons Pepper Spray Keeps You Safe!

Posted by On January - 18 - 2010

So here we are, talking about the great pepper spray again.

What I wanted to touch on, are the benefits of having pepper spray and the top five reasons it will keep you safe.

So without further adieu, I give you the top five reasons, pepper spray is so awesome.

1.) Price - Pepper spray is by far one of the cheapest forms of self defense on the market. For under $20.00 you can have a pepper spray that will bring most elephants to their knees. I know that wasn’t a good example but you get the picture. It’s pretty bad ass.

2.) Complexity - Pepper spray is NOT complex to use. If you can turn the volume up on your remote, you can use pepper spray. All it takes is the hit of a button, and down goes the assailant; problem solved.

3.) Attractiveness - Pepper spray is attractive. Did you know that you can purchase pepper spray in tons of different colors; including pink for the ladies. Instead of carrying an ugly stun gun (not that there is anything wrong with stun guns), buy pepper spray.

4.) Size - So all the ladies are always talking about how size matters. Well, let me be the first to tell you that it’s not the size of the weapon, its how much burn it has. Super corny, but you get the picture. Pepper spray does not have to be huge. All you need is a small 6 oz bottle to do some major damage.

5.) Super Awesome - I know this isn’t really a good reason but it is to me. Buying pepper spray is super awesome. You want something that can save your life, right? Well what’s more life saving than a small, low cost pepper spray? Exactly! That is why pepper spray is super awesome.

So there you go ladies and gents. You now have PeopleProtection.com’s top five reasons pepper spray keeps you safe. So if you are in the market for one of these dynamite beauties, check out the site below, you will not be disappointed.

How To Make Pepper Spray!

Posted by On January - 12 - 2010

Here is a simple little video made by some kid, ironically enough.

The video shows you how you can make pepper spray from the comfort of your home. Basically, all it’s made of is cayenne pepper and some water. He shows you how to mix everything and what type of bottle to keep it in.

The only thing I do not like about what he teaches, are the ingredients of the pepper spray. All he adds is cayenne pepper when he should also add cumin and ground hot pepper flakes.

But if you are just checking it out to get a taste of how to make pepper spray, this is a perfect video for you. Check it out and you will know how to make pepper spray in no time.
