Ok so you have been sprayed with pepper spray and it hurts like you know what.

So you want to know how to stop it. Since you are someone either with a person that has been sprayed or you are the victim yourself, I won’t waste any time.

NOTE: Do not rub your eyes AT ALL. The more you rub the worse it will be. Follow what is below and you should be fine. Also DO NOT go right for water when you get sprayed. Splashing water in your eyes will only make it worse. PLEASE read what I have below before going crazy. Trust me, you will thank me soon.

1.) Blink like crazy - The more you blink the more natural tears you create thus diluting the capsaicin oil. What I always tell people is to blink so much your eyes get tired. You should do this first since it will help to get the oil out of your eyes.

2.) Secret Elixir - Get some milk and some water. Mix 1/2 milk and half water in a shot glass. Take the shot glass and put your face over it. Place the shot glass on your eye and tilt your head back making sure you blink several times to get the mixture in your eye. If both eyes were sprayed, which they probably were, then repeat these steps with the other eye. You can do this several times just don’t forget to keep blinking.

3.) Grab Some Soap - Get some soap and use that to rub off the capsaicin from your hands and face or anywhere else it might be. Using a small wash cloth or something along those lines should work fine. MAKE SURE YOU RUB GENTLY.

The pepper spray burn is not fun but I can tell you it can be managed. By doing this you should be OK within a half hour or so.

I have not been sprayed with pepper spray yet…but I have several friends who have tried this and they seem to swear by it.

I know of a lot of people out there that have been victimized.

People have been asking me recently how long the burn last’s once someone is sprayed with pepper spray.

Well let me give you a few tips and suggestions as to what I think you should do.

When you buy pepper spray, there are a couple of advantages you take over owning a stun gun. The main thing is the cost. Now I know that stun guns are really good and I even own a couple myself, but they are a little more expensive than buying pepper spray. You can pick up pepper spray for around $15 or so and a stun gun for almost double that.

And everyone knows that with the crazy economy that is going on right now, saving every dollar can mean life or death. Just keep in mind that you do not want to be cheap here. Spending a little bit of money is OK when you are possibly saving your life.

Another great advantage to owning pepper sprays instead of stun guns are their versatility. When you have a stun gun you have to be in close proximity to the person you are using it on for it to be effective. With pepper spray you can be as far as 15 feet away when you spray someone. I know you cans see the advantages to this already.

I personally have my family members keep a spray on them and in their vehicle. This allows for double the safety and can’t really be accomplished when spending double the amount on a stun gun. So buy a couple and keep one in the house, in the car, and one on your person. It’s only a few more dollars and can mean the difference between life and death.
