Review: The Pepper Pen

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 15 - 2008

Hello all! I know I have talked about this in the past but I really wanted to let everyone know a little more about this amazing little self defense device.

The pepper pen has to be one of my favorite self defense weapons. It has several different characteristics that make this little beauty a must have. Oh yeah, here they are:

1.) Light and VERY compact: This little guy has enough capsicum spray to stop an attacker in their tracks. Loaded with tons of active ingredient, it provides everything you need to stop your attackers.

2.) Stylish yet conservative: The pepper pen is very stylish and compact. It comes in a couple colors but the best are black and burgundy. Did I mention it looks just like a regular fountain pen?

3.) Untraceable: Since this looks like a regular fountain pen it is almost untraceable. If an attacker is trying to get fresh and or rob you they will never know whats coming when you give them a does of capsicum spray.

This is just a little review. I will be adding a new review every couple days so please check back to see what else I have added.

Working Through the Hard Times!

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 13 - 2008

Have you ever found yourself wondering what was going to happen next? Do you work on something so hard only to find a lack of immediate gratification? These are questions I have asked myself routinely throughout the past couple months. I have been working on things without fail for a while now and I have just not made the progress I thought I would have.

Would you stop or quit after a while of not making any sales or progress? I have done this before only to be disappointed later. When you work at something so hard and then quit, you defeat everything else you plan on doing in the future.

I am at a point where I would love to see some immediate gratification. Am I going to quit? Nope. I have a poem I read every time I get a little discouraged or down. I want to share it with you in hopes it will lift you up through your day to day endeavours.

Don’t Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit -
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.

If you are someone that has been reading my posts then you know that I sell self defense products. I sell pepper spray canisters, stun guns, and stun batons. The poem listed is something I know can help you. If you are ever down or depressed read it and truck on. You never really know how close you are to a sale or to a breakthrough. Keep it going and make sure your “Mental Self Defense” is up!

Mental Defense: Part 2

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 12 - 2008

OK my friends here we are again with another part to this amazing series. This has to be my favorite post so far and I love talking about these kinds of things. If you have not done so yet, make sure you read “Defending Yourself: Mental Defense!” That was the first part of that series and leads into this one so don’t cheat.

Now what I was talking about in part one was three key techniques you needed in order to succeed at defending yourself from well…yourself. You can be your own worst enemy and you can be your own savior. You pick what you want to think and how you act. If you follow the words I just said then you probably don’t have to read the rest of this post because you already know what it is you have to do.

OK now with the next three parts. Please if you have any questions always feel free to e-mail me at info@peopleprotection.com,

1.) Study: Every day even if it’s one page, read something that will help you grow. Read something that is informational and or inspiring. Experts say you should do this within the first half hour of getting up in the morning. They call this the power hour and your mind is more suceptable to taking valuable information in than any other time of day. I have tried it and it works great.

2.) Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Now I don’t mean you should watch and see what types of buildings you have around you or the license plate numbers of certain cars, although these things would not be a bad idea for self defense purposes. What I mean is watch who you surround yourself with. If you ever feel that someone is too negative or pessimistic, keep away. If this is a family member do your best not to listen to all of their negative thoughts. Keep yourself surrounded by positive, uplifting people that will bring you up and not down. I have a couple family members that just thrive on being negative. I love them with all my heart but I just cant stand their views on life. I just keep myself focused on the good and everything works out fine.

3.) Start a Positive People’s Group: Believe it or not we have a positive people’s group here where I live. Every week or so people get together, eat, and fellowship with each other in a postitive way. If you already have something like this in your area then I encourage you to join and attend the meetings. It is an awesome time and you get to network with tons of people that you otherwise wouldn’t have known.

So now we have a total of 6 tips I recommend for keeping you out of “mental” harms way. Please just practice one at a time and test it out. What works for some doesn’t work for others. Keep your mental self defense up and everything in your life will come out on top…I guarantee it.

Working On Yourself: Mental Defense!

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 11 - 2008

There are several things that go on in my head throughout the day. I’m sure everyone else experiences the same thing or you wouldn’t be human. During the day I hear from reliable sources that your brain thinks up  about 10,000 thoughts. I can agree with this to a point but what if your brain thinks up more like 50,000 thoughts? That’s what I feel like. I feel like I have un-imaginable amounts of thought power and I don’t know where to put it. That was until I found a new technique that I have coined as “Mental Defense.” Well, I’m sure it has been said before but I like to think of myself as the founder <laughs>.

There are a couple things that I do that make my work load so much easier. Since I own my own online store selling pepper sprays and self defense productsI had to do something. Below I have three of them listed that I think everyone should practice in order to defend yourself from mental enemies like procrastination, laziness, boredom, and low self esteem.

Although there are only three listed here I suggest you check back OFTEN. I am going to make this a 10 part series which includes three techniques each. If your math is right that should add up to around 30 different techniques I think every person should practice in order to keep themselves sharp, alert, and focused. Here we go.

1.) Three Things: Make sure EVERY day you do three things that you need to do in order to advance yourself. Now I’m not talking about taking the trash out or walking the dog. I mean three things that you really don’t want to do but know will help you in your life. Things like research, writing, building, planning, whatever it might be. Here is a little preview of the three things I am doing today and WHY I am doing them.

a.) Write This Blog Post: I am doing this to expand my website and to build a reader base. This is important so people visit my website and blog. In return some people might buy some of my products and or I build such a customer base that I can rent out advertising space.

b.) Post My Site: I am going to post my site for review. I have a reliable source that helps me look over my site for tips and tricks that will make it more profitable. This is return will make me more money.

c.) Twitter: Go onto Twitter.com and review the “tweets” I have received as well as post a few myself. This is also geared so I can make more friends and build up my customer base. The more people you have hanging out with you the better. Want to follow me on twitter? Go to http://twitter.com/mbatcho.

2.) Positive Thinking: NO MATTER WHAT make sure you always keep your mind on the positive. I have caught myself in several situations where I was thinking in a negative way. To be honest just a week ago I think I was in the biggest negative slouch I have ever been in. If it wasn’t for my beautiful girlfriend things might have gotten a little bad. I was just depressed and it was all over false thoughts generated in my mind. Stay positive no if’s and’s or but’s. Read “The Science of Getting Rich”! This book has changed my life and I think it can do the same for you.

3.) Do Success Tasks First! If I were you I would get up around 6 or 7 in the morning and do the three things you have planned out for the day. Get these done by 10:00am and you will have the rest of the day to do whatever. If your schedule does not follow this make one that will. You have to step up and take care of yourself.

There you have it, the three tips for success. I will have the other ones posted throughout the month so please check back soon.

Self Defense For Woman: Part 2

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 9 - 2008

OK here we are again folks. I hope everyone had a good day and have read what I had to say about woman’s self defense in the first post. OK follow me now as we take a look at the other options we have available to us in regards to self defense and some other skills and practices we should follow.

Just to reiterate what we talked about in the first part.

1.) If attacked make sure you always keep something in between you and the attacker. Never let them get close enough to grab you if you feel you are being chased down or stalked.

2.) NEVER go anywhere alone if you can help it. Make sure you preplan things with family and friends so that you always have a shopping partner/errand partner.

3.) If an attacker ever grabs you make you draw attention to yourself. Scream and kick until the attacker either leaves or you draw the attention of someone that will help you.

These are the first three I recommend. Now lets go into the others so you can expand your arsenal.

4.) Always park as close as possible to the entrance of a location: Here is why we should do this. Do you think an attacker is going to come up on you in broad day light, in a crowded place, when you parked twenty feet from the entrance? No. Well, there are always people that just don’t care but 90% of the time statistics will play out in your favor. Park close so you can get to your car as soon as possible.

5.) Use your weapons: What I mean by this is simple; if you are a woman and alone you only have a couple things you could use to defend yourself with. Use your nails, legs, arms, teeth, what ever you need. If someone grabs you bite them. If they prevent you from biting, kick them. If you cant kick nor bite, scratch their eyes. You get the picture. Use what you have and don’t hold anything back.

6.) LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Carry pepper spray or a stun gun with you at all times. Remember that these products are very inexpensive and well worth the investment. I sell them at my online store at www.peopleprotection.com. I am not telling you this to boost sales. I want you to know this because it works. If you stun someone they will know it, and you will have plenty of time to get away. If you need to pepper spray them and run like hell. When someone is pepper sprayed I guarantee they will be out for the count for at least thirty minutes.

I know some of these might sound simple but they work. Think about it, how many of these tips do you practice? Applying one of these will help you profusely. Pay attention and be safe.

Self Defense For Woman

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 8 - 2008
As we are all know, there are several different kinds of people out there. We have men, woman, children, Caucasian, black, Chinese, big, and small. This is one of the main reasons different people react to situations differently. In most cases a woman will react to threat a lot differently than a man will. A small child will run from an adult that is trying to punish him but most adults do not run from each other. This is just the basic notion that no two people are a like. Because of this I am going to start a series of posts aimed specifically at different genders and ages. Race for the most part has nothing to do with your abilities so we will leave that out. So follow me as we take a little look at our first self defense post aimed towards woman.

NOTE: Let me perfectly clear here. I am not being biased or judgmental based on gender and age. I am honestly just giving my opinion based on facts I already know. My recommendations are just that, recommendations. I am going to offer the best self defense route I know based on different genders and age groups.

O.K. so here we go. I have come up with six different tips I think woman should follow during day-to-day situations. Following these, I believe, will minimize your chances of being abducted raped and or anything a coward might try to do. Also I am braking this into two parts so check back in a couple of days and I should have the rest here for you. There are no specific orders here so just follow with me and apply them as you see fit.

1.) Make sure you always keep something in between you and the coward: If you ever feel threatened you need to keep yourself as far away from the attacker as you can. I know, I know, this is obvious. But honestly if you have someone trying to abduct you, try and keep something in between both of you. You don’t want that person getting the upper hand and taking you.
For example: If you feel someone is following you make sure you keep as much distance between you as possible. If you walk faster and they walk faster, run! Who cares if you look stupid or crazy for just running. Go into a public place and call for help. Even if it’s a false alarm it’s better safe than sorry.
2.) Never go anywhere alone:When people say never go anywhere alone they mean it. Even broad daylight now a days is a little crazy. Criminals and rapists are becoming more and more bold with their crimes. They want what ever it is they want and they want it now. Make sure when you go out you ask a friend or relative to go with you. Always stay together and keep your eyes open for anything suspicious. A criminal is 70% less likely to attack if you have someone else with you. This my friends is the golden rule.
3.) If you are ever abducted draw attention: Nine times out of ten if someone is abducted a criminal will say “Don’t scream if you know what’s good for you!” Well why do you think they would say that? Because they don’t want to be caught. If you are ever abducted scream, punch, rant, rave, kick, and swing until you have grabbed someones attention. They won’t know what to do. Now keep in mind that you have to assess the situation. If someone has a gun to your head and says don’t yell, you might want to listen and start to apply self defense skills. This can be learned from Krav Maga or Hapkido.
This is it for now. Check back in a couple days and I will post the other article with a few more tips and tricks to keeping yourself safe and out of harms way.

What Type of OC Spray Should I Use On Dogs?

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 6 - 2008

What type of spray should you use on old Fido you ask? Well let me be fairly frank with you. If someone were to say, spray you in the face with “Dog” pepper spray, it would hurt right? O.K. say someone sprayed you in the face with “regular” standard pepper spray, would hurt right? Starting to see where I am going with this? Whether you are spraying a dog with standard pepper spray or “dog” pepper spray, the little bugger is going to run away panting and whining.

My point is this; if you are shopping around for dog pepper sprays or just regular standard pepper sprays you will be fine with buying either of the two. They both do the same thing and they both hurt like hell when used on someone or something, in this case a dog. They come with 95% of the same ingredients and the only thing that might differ is the amount of active ingredient. Other than that they are the same product with a different packaging and made by several different companies.

Companies make several different kinds of pepper sprays and name them different things because they are trying to have more products in order to make more profit. There isn’t anything wrong with that it’s just business.

I for one have my family members carry regular pepper spray with them instead of specifics. Like I said above, if I spray a dog with either standard OC or “Super Deluxe Dog Stopper Pro” (fake name), it’s going to work the same. When they carry the regular stuff it works just fine and they do not find themselves shuffling in their purse or pocket for what type of spray to use and on which target.

The active ingredient in pepper spray is capsaicin. This is a derivative of chili peppers and obviously what makes pepper spray hot. Having a nice little mist in the air is enough to stop boat loads of people. Pepper spray effects the mucous membranes and hinders the ability to see. This is especially useful on dogs and other wildlife that might be trying to eat/attack you.

I promise you without a shadow of a doubt that if you spray any animal with regular grade pepper spray they will not be hurting you. Well, at least they won’t be hurting you within the next thirty minutes. Check out pepper spray effectiveness for more details.

So save yourself some room if you can and just buy a regular, standard pepper spray if need be. How can you go wrong? All the postal workers are doing it.

Dealing With the Bully

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 5 - 2008

My siblings recently came home from school with a little problem on their hands. They had a friendly little kid at school that loved to intimidate and belittle them in front of all the other kids. We all know this to be a bully. Who likes bullies? No one.

Well because of my experience in self defense I advised them of a few techniques I recommended in regards to extinguishing this so called bully. I did not want them to fight him (unless it was absolutely necessary) but I did advise them to stand up to him so that this bully (coward), would re-think his attempt to bully them again. I don’t condone violence so just let me get that out right now. I do however approve of people sticking up for themselves. If you have someone that is picking on you and you do not know how to deal with it then seek advice from a parent or someone that may know how. Other than that the only thing I can tell you to do is get right back in their face, stand up to them and advice who is boss.

There was actually a time when I was beat up for standing up to a bully but guess what? I was never picked on again. I stood up to him and he never came back (after he beat me up). The thing is he respected me and decided it was a lot easier to go and pick on someone else.

O.K. off my soap box. The next day at school the same situation arrived and they said what I told them to say and low and behold the “bully” backed down and cowered away from them. Since he has a reputation to uphold it’s not like he ran away but he did step down. By siblings have never had a problem again.

Since this happened it brought up a new thought. Are burglars, rapists, murderers, and the like, all bullies? Well my answer to that is YES! I am not saying that these people are afraid of you but you can almost treat them like any other bully and that is with confidence and self esteem.

You have to stand up to them and show them that you are prepared and unafraid of their antics. Having a simple pepper spray or brass knuckles will surely do the job. Either way you have to remember what I told my siblings and that is that the bully is usually afraid. They have mental problems (like most of us) that prohibit them from feeling good about themselves so they have to hide behind their scared persona by picking on other people.

Stand up for yourself and be heard, “You do not have to be a victim!”

What is Parkour?

Posted by User Imageadmin On December - 3 - 2008

Well while searching through the web of eternal information I found something I thought would be beneficial for my readers to know about. It’s called Parkour.

Parkour is a flight type of self defense taught in several places all over the world. The main objective behind Parkour is finding the best possible way to evade your attacker.

What they teach in a nutshell is basic manuverability in and around objects and obstacles. This provides a huge benefit as it allows you to run, jump, swim, crawl or jog your way to safety. If you are being attacked by someone and you do not see yourself fighting them the next best thing is your skill in evading. If you are able to run from an attacker and gain ground you have a much better chance of getting to safety especially in a life threatening situation. Unlike carrying a pepper spray or stun gun where you have to be within a certain proximity, you can just use your Parkour abilities and get the heck out of harms way.

One of the best sites I have found on Parkour is at Fighting Arts. This site also has several forums that discuss all types of self defense and martial arts.

My personal opinion on the whole thing is this. If you EVER feel like your not safe and you are more comfortable with running and evading an attacker then do so. Run your little heart out and get to safety. Having a pepper pen or something along those lines won’t hurt but do whatever it is you feel most comfortable doing.

I, myself have taken Hapkiyudo in the past and have found that it is extremely interesting. Hapkiyudo or otherwise known as Hapkido is a martial art that involves grappling and throwing. Hapkiyudo is a hybrid of Hapkido and Judo which is a very effective martial art.

Either way, which ever self defense method you choose make sure you pick something that is right for you and something that fits your physical fitness ability. If you don’t have time to practice a martial art then stick with the basics and get some self defense sprays and a stun gun. Be prepared so you never have to be a victim!
